Hailey's Stone & Memorial Day Update
May 25, 2009
It has been 13 weeks since Hailey gained her wings. Kyle and I truly are doing well and continue to feel the love and support from all of our family and friends. Although things are not always easy we know that we are very blessed. We still miss our Hailey daily, but we are so happy for our sweet baby girl. Selfishly, we wish she was still here to hug and kiss, but we know she is so much happier in heaven and that we will soon see her again! Mother's day weekend Hailey's stone was placed. We wanted something simple and sweet and we were very pleased with Hailey's simple little heart. On the back Kyle and I had them put "Our beautiful girl forever in our hearts Mommy and Daddy." We also have plans to have a bench with Philippians 1:3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you. We are still working on Hailey's Non-profit and at this point we think it is going to be the Help Hailey Foundation. We are looking forward to t-shirts and many other things that will hopefully be available soon. We are also hoping to have several yearly events. The third week in September is Mitochondrial Awareness week in many states and we are trying to pass this in Oklahoma. In June we are going to the Mitochondrial Symposium in Washington DC. We will be advocating on the Hill for Mitochondrial Research and hopefully trying to pass the Awareness Week for Oklahoma. We are also looking forward to meeting other families affected by Mitochondrial disease. There are many classes we can attend to learn more about this disease, fundraising ideas, and ways to spread Mitochondrial disease awareness. This trip will hopefully be a great step forward for Kyle and I, the Help Hailey Foundation, and for the UMDF. Thank you again for all of the support and prayer!
